The Senate Group was founded in 2000 by the current Managing Director, Janet Keeling. Since then, the company has successfully delivered a broad portfolio of specialised risk and security services throughout the UK and abroad and has a diverse client base. The business is managed from Senate House in Alsager, on the Cheshire / Staffordshire border, where there are purpose-built training facilities, offices and the National Operations Centre.

Senate Training Ltd was incorporated as a Limited Company. The business was started at the home of Janet Keeling. It initially delivered training throughout the UK in First Aid and Security, including bespoke and Nationally Accredited courses. Within a few weeks of inception, it received requests for security consultancy services. The company grew rapidly and moved to rented offices in the local town centre.

Paul Keeling retired from a 32-year Police Career, including a secondment to the National Home Office Crime Prevention School as Director of Studies. Paul joined the business as CEO. The Consultancy Division continued to grow, taking the team abroad to the USA, India and Europe.

As the business grew, it moved into new local offices and decided to purchase 81-85 Crewe Road Alsager. A renovation process commenced over the following twelve months. Senate House was officially opened in September 2007 and included purpose-built training facilities, including a dedicated CCTV training room.

In 2014, work commenced to develop the CCTV training room into an Alarm Receiving Centre and to go through the NSI accreditation process. 2018 the Senate National Operations Centre (NOC) opened its doors. The trading name had been changed to 'The Senate Group' to reflect the broadening of the service provision.

The Senate Group continued to work on many significant security/risk consultancy projects, including the London 2012 Olympics. The delivery of specialised security training courses

was also a core element of the business.

The workforce grew to include individuals with academic, police and uniformed service backgrounds. It was highly successful in training staff internally, taking Apprentices on at the end of their compulsory education. The outcome has been the evolvement of a unique team with impressive collective skills and expertise. They have even picked up a few industry awards on the journey...

The NOC continued to deliver its services on a 24/7/365 basis throughout the Global Pandemic. The National Operations Centre and the Security Systems Division traded throughout lockdown periods, and all other work stopped.

2018 the National Operations Centre had been extended by 200% in terms of floor space to enable the delivery of an increasing portfolio of services. The Senate Team continues to increase...
